This series was initiated as a visual response to John Berger’s essay Why Look at Animals?.
Berger examines the evolution of our relationship with animals and how they went through time from muses for the very first human art to spiritual deities to captive entertainment.
To emphasize this idea, all images have been shot directly on a TV screen.
